WHY.

Mon Aug 31, 2009, 2:32 PM
  • Mood: Rant
  • Listening to: Change - The Young Veins
  • Reading: Something Wicked - Ray Bradbury
  • Playing: World of Warcraft
It seems like every time I update this journal, I update it with a rant. So, I'll keep it nice and short.

As you may or may not know, I like to act a little and I fancy I'm pretty good at it. Not the best, not the worst. But it's fun and it's something to do.

Play tryouts for my high school were today and...ugh...we're doing the Miracle Worker. You know, Helen Keller's story. The two lead parts are Annie Sullivan and, of course, Helen. I have been perpetually screwed when it comes to plays because I'm simply not built right. With my figure, I'm too developed to play a child, but I'm too short to play an adult. In high school plays, you have to be relatively tall compared to everyone else in order to look like an adult and...I'm average sized.

Helen, in my director's mind, is a skinny little pettanko type girl, skinny as a reed with no curves. Annie's got to be tall, too, to look like an adult. I'm neither of those things.

It makes me frustrated because I know I'm a pretty decent actor, but I'm just not built right. I would do ANYTHING in the world to be flat chested. Then I could play a child character at least. But I'm just not. And I'm too short to play a grown up. I'm screwed. The only part I can play is 'schoolgirl'. And there aren't gonna be a lot of parts like that in this play.

Sorry for ranting. Just gotta get it out.

I'm workin' on 'em. XD Comics take a really long time, I discovered, if you want to do them right. And I do like making good comics.

Oh, absolutely! That's why I don't do comics as often as I'd like to.
Let me know when you have some new one :D
